Scenario: You conduct a lawful traffic stop for a minor violation. After approaching the vehicle, you ask the driver for their license, registration, and insurance, which they provide without issue.

You then turn to the front seat passenger and ask for identification.

The passenger responds:
"No, your business is with them," while motioning toward the driver.

Before you can reply, the passenger opens the car door and says, "I want to leave." They begin to step out of the vehicle, attempting to walk away from the traffic stop.
